I have some old climbing footage from 1990 that was shot in Yosemite with a Super 8 camera. I need to transfer it to digital or video format. Is this possible and do you have a recommendation for a film transfer specialist in the New York area? Also, is there one transfer method (to digital vs. video) or technique that is preferred. I know nothing about this but really want access to this film -- the footage is very valuable to me and I want to make sure that it does not get ruined in the process. Thank you so much for your advice -- it is much appreciated.

    Welcome to our forum.

I know the West coast better but hopefully someone will chime in with east coast info. Good idea to do it locally since you do have concerns about it possibly getting lost.

Although if you are comfortable with fed ex I would recommend Spectrafilmandvideo.com, but they are in LA.
